This is first time using this forum so i'll explain my engine issue and what i've done so far.
I have a 1999 Johnson OceanPro 150 hp outboard and I have 2 engine temperature gauge , starboard shows 178 degrees and my port shows 158 degrees.
I replaced my water pump, 2 temp senders and still shows the same temps on my gauge. I used a infrared temperature gun and I placed the red bead on top of the engine where the thermostats are and the starboard shows 140 degrees and my port shows 120 degrees. Is there anything i'm missing or possible temp switch? One side shows 1 brown wire, the other side has 2 brown wires.
