"Hi,
I found today that the bolt that connects my Johnson 150 outboard to the hydraulic steering unit is bent, also the nylon bushes are worn.

I need a new bolt and bushes but don't know whether they are supplied with the engine or the steering unit.

The engine is a 1987 (J150TLCUR). The steering unit is by Teleflex (don't know model).

Should I look for Johnson parts, or Teleflex?

Thanks :)"

If it is a bolt that you can attach a nut to then just buy one from a store. Just get a stainless steel one or aluminum. Even if it does just screw into something still buy one from the store. Would be cheaper in the long run. For as the bushes it would seem to something you get from teleflex because i don't know that in 1987 that hydraulic steering was arond yet. It was probably an aftermarket buy.

"Thanks Louis, good advice.

Am going to get a 3/8 x 1 1/2 SS screw locally.

Regarding bushes, have found that these are Teleflex parts and am getting replacements from my local dealer.

Thanks."
