Johnson 150 fast strike

I have a 1996 johnson 150 fast strike cranks great runs great until it gets hot, it will crank but its like you turn the swith off, it will finally crank but has a miss before running good again. Could this be the power pack oe coils?
 
Water pump looked at ?-----Motor should warm up, but not get " hot " as you say.------Maybe the S.L.O.W. system is activating.
 
Its cooling good, its not running hot , it usually does this when i have been sitting for at leat 30 minutes, and crank to move.
 
My 200 was doing the same. Turned out to be the stator. Saw the drips of potting material while taking photos of the motor up underneath the flywheel. Guess it didn't work as well after soaking up some heat while sitting.
