jOHNSON 150 - CARBURATORS:

There s a BB like ball on each carb in the float section. they either leak or fall out.
Everyone I spoke with has no knowledge of why it is there. So far, have sealed 3 of the six,
and it works fine.
Can't see the reason, and fuel flows freely which I can see as dangerous. Any answer?

Small balls are usually a simple check valve. Many 4 stroke engine carbs use them in the bottom of the accellerator pump well.

They commonly use lead shot to plug holes after drilling a passage way.------Examine things carefully before making possible dangerous changes on carburetors.
