I recently started the motor after being stored for 1.5 years. Fuel was stabilized and motor fully mainained when put away. The motor started fine and ran at idle for about 10 minutes. I tried to increase RPM with the Fast Idle (on trailer with muffs) and when I hit 3000rpm the engine appeared to go into SLOW mode (engine shook). Down below 3000 and everything is fine. No alarms on the indicators. Indicators self tested properly at start up.

The manual says don't overspeed the motor in this situation. Is this a limit to prevent damage or do I have a problem. I just want to identify any problem before dropping it in the water.

Thanks

"At idle, or even in gear when

"At idle, or even in gear when running on a flushette, attenpting to obtain full throttle or simply a high rpm is a very good way to set up a Run Away Engine scenario. BY the time you figured a way to drop those rpms, connecting rods would be flying out the side of the crankcase... not a good idea!

After sitting 1-1/2 years, even when stored properly, I'd strongly suggest cleaning the carburetors first."

Its fuel injected if that make

Its fuel injected if that makes any difference. The rpm was increased very slowly and never got over 3000. Just wondering if this is a problem that I am having or a limit by the computer to prevent damage.
