Johnson 120hp V4

Hey guys I’m pretty new to this forum.
Recently purchased a ski boat with a Johnson 1985 120hp.
I have been having some problems getting it started got it started the other day ran fine for 5 minutes, shut it off then started it back up 3 minutes later. After this I tried a couple hours later and it wouldn’t go. Now every time I use engine start in it, it will start but die few seconds after.
any help would be appreciated

Are you pushing the key in WHILE cranking it over.??----Post your starting procedure here.-----Did seller give you any coaching on how to start and operate this motor ?-----Mixing gas and oil at 50:1 on it ?----Or is the VRO in service and verified to be working properly ?

Pumping primer bulb until firm as well?
