johnson 120 no spark

trying to check continuity and voltage on coils, triger and power pack but dont know where to even start i am looking for values that are ok and maybe color code or any other thread where i can find it i have been reading a lot but it says to check continuity but or voltage but it does not say like secuence of operation or may be boating mechanic for dummies.

You need to post the year so that the readers will know what engine you are working on. The first thing to do in a no spark situation is usually to disconnect the large red engine harness plug under the hood, jump the starter, and then see if you have spark. If so, bad ignition switch, kill switch, pinched wire, etc.
 
for voltage checks a dva will be needed. i got notta without. may not be total peak but a car condensor and diode will make a redneck dva. havent had time to compare but i do know it will work. i had more than a dream
