"I have a Johnson 112 SPL on my 19 ft mako and I had a control cable go bad. I bought the cable (yes it is definatly the right one) and ran it.
The problem is, I changed both cables. The throttle works fine but the shifter doesnt seem to want to shift into forward. I tried to thumb screw it to where it would be in nuetral when the control box was in nuetral but the screws ended and it still wasnt there. It seems that if I get the thumb screw to where it is on the threads still and put the shift bar into nuetral (with the control box in nuetral) then I am still a couple inches off getting the thumb screw to sit in its holster (the thing that holds the cable so only the internal wire moves)
Could this be because of a problem at the control box? Has anyone ever experienced this before?"
