" Joe... I have a built in fuel tank with one small 8" access hole in the floor and removing the floor would be a real job, could it be anywhere else closer to the motor or should I start at the tank. If it helps the boat is a Smoker Craft 17' Lazer. (1990) "

"Dean.... It would have been better if you continued on with the original post. The above left me somewhat puzzled as to what you were speaking of. However, I reread some of the other posts and, came across your original so all is well.

That eight inch (8") access plate should be the access area to where the fuel hose connects to that built in tank. If you have an anti siphon valve, it would be the fitting that the fuel hose is connected to. The built in tanks are the only type that have the anti siphon valves. I've never come across a boat with a built in tank that didn't allow access to the fuel supply tube and gauge sender. Get back to me with what you find.
