I'm installing a Tele-Fle

I'm installing a Tele-Flex tachometer on my 55EL78 Johnson. The installation is pretty much straight forward except for the "IGN" wire connection. The instructions say to connect it to the ignition switch and adds that it must be "switched power". I reviewed my service manual and the only switched circuit appears to be the purple wire to the hot horn. Is this the correct connection for the "IGN" on the tachometer? Thanks in advance.
