i have this little johnson 70 hp the other day i was out fishing with 6 of my friends on the boat generally it gave me from 20 to 27 kt, so i was going about 16 kt an the engine gave up on me so i turn around a went home, in the trajectory home it never went up the 6 kt. when took it apart and this is what i found piston #1 is good like #3 10313384_10202364666454164_8557163111334706340_n.jpg10177457_10202364666414163_4793357082268719792_n.jpg10415632_10202364667334186_4646955529338690874_n.jpg this is piston #210169389_10202364667854199_4315077447754828780_n.jpg the last picture is piton number 3
i need to now if this is reparable and around how much will it be i don't now at this point if i fix this engine or i get a new one am in need of advice
and last but not least i like to apologize for any errors in my grammar, English is not my natural language.

It's repairable. Tear it down and you'll know what the rest of the motor is like. The big thing here is to find out what caused it. Your model # says it's an '89.

Fairly typical for the #2 piston / cylinder to show that damage.----Was waterpump maintained ?------Does hose for the tell tale come off the side of the block or off the top of the block ?

Oh yes is an 89 as for what could cause the breakdown is unknown to me, am relatively new to the boating world this engine has been whith me for no more than two months. My father is teling me that "the boat was overload" maybe that cause problem

Wene i bought the engine i had to change the water pump because the tel tale hose had almost no pressure it was more dripping the water Than the normal flow
