I have a 1959 Evinrude sportwi

I have a 1959 Evinrude sportwin motor with a fuel can that has the pump built into the tank.
Can I replace the fuel can for a fuel can with a bulb type pump?

That pump fills the carburetor

That pump fills the carburetor---- when the motor starts it pressurizes the tank and fuel flows to the motor--- cap must be closed.A regular tank with primer bulb will not work because the motor does not have a fuel pump.
