Javelin RJE-18 Carb Removal?

Does anybody know a trick for removing the carb from a 1956 Johnson 30HP? The 2 nuts are stuffed between the manifold and the carb body with very little maneuvering room for the wrench. My next move is to remove the starter and brackets that might give me more access.

I read somewhere that if You remove the flywheel and magnito plate
it makes it easier.

Hey folks, here's an update: Only took 5 extra minutes to pull the starter and brackets off either side of the carb to get wrench access to the carb bolts. Much easier than I thought -- even if I couldn't get a good angle of attack without the extra steps. Thanks for nudging me to go that way.
