Jammed open stat on 1963 18hp fastwin.

I have a 1963 18hp fastwin,the stat on it is jammed open,i may have to wait a while before I can get a new stat.
I know running without a stat prevents getting all the two stroke oil to burn with the fuel.
Would it be ok to run with a jammed open stat for a while?

They fail like that all the time.-------Many motors use that thermostat including Mercury.-----Used on 5.5 HP to 140 HP models.----Run it till you get new one.
