"Hi, can anyone advise powerhead rebuild information? J70TLCRD 84model Johno.
Recently purchased cheap with siezed engine, freed up and got running although rough.
Took out on river for test, went ok but very noisy!!
Pulled engine down, result is water was entering through exhaust. No.2 and 3 big ends were siezed to crankshaft. Quite messy.
My question is: can cranks be reground and oversize bearings purchased?
I have found plenty of places that supply parts and machine cylinders oversize, but no mention of crank grinding?
I was quite suprised the engine even run! Just proves the arent a bad make of outboard!
