J60PLEEB shut down while running.

Yesterday was the first time I got to take out my 22' pontoon with a1999 J60PLEEB on it since I got the carbs redone it was running great turning 4100rpm at full throttle by tachometer full strong stream of water from water pump no alarms from warning system all at once it shut down and wouldn't crank back up. Took cover off starter is working coming up and engaging the flywheel but will not turn flywheel seems to be locked is it a blowed power head or could it be something in the lower unit that locked the engine up also I mix oil in my fuel along with the oil injector so I know it was getting oil

First thing is to look at the magnetic drain plug on the lower unit.-----Any metal chunks on it ?

That 1999 60hp Johnson, at full throttle, should be running close to 5500/6000 rpm. I forget the exact figure but another member will no doubt fill that in.

At only 4100 rpm, the engine was not actually set to full throttle... OR... it was not running as it should to begin with.

Can you turn the flywheel over by hand ??

No I can not

Remove the lower unit in order to determine if it is the lower unit that's locked up... OR... the powerhead.
