On the Serial # tag on my 25 HP Johnson, it says it was made in 07/2002, but the J25TESTR was only made in 03. After some research I discovered that between 01 and 03 Johnson was merging with a company called Bombardier. Apperantly, this caused some issued with serial numbers. Has anyone heard of this?
From the breakdown of the model number, I have learned that it is a 25 hp (obviously) 2003. It was originally a tiller but was converted so that it could be used with controls and a steering wheel. What else can I take from the model #? (Tilt/trim, electric start ect.)
I am trying to sell this thing and it isn't easy with all of this model number confusion.
