"Hi , I've been reading for weeks but registered to post my question.
Johnson 150 , 1994 J150WCLERS , commercial.
runs rough throughout range. Idles decent but won't rev smooth.
Compression is even, I rebuilt all carbs, new tank , bulb, lines etc, new battery.
Fresh fuel, running VRO system, everything works.
Spark test showed the starboard bank all bright blue spark with good snap.
Port sparkplugs cannot fire 7/16th gap.
They do fire if the gap is reduced to 1/4 inch.
Shift assist switch tests ok.
Timing light shows spark throughout rev range , doesn't look to be dropping a spark anywhere.
Obviously spark quality isn't good enough.
I can't imagine the odds of 3 coils going bad at the same time on one side only and I suspect the power pack at this point. IS my thinking correct on this?"
