Hi, I just bought an Evinrude 18 horse power out board. The model number is 18902d I have many questions about it. It has electric start and it is a tiller motor. I just want to put a push button on it to get it started. I will be back there any way to operate the motor. Can someone tell me how to wire up the push button.? It also has two quite heavy wires coming out the bottom, from under the fly wheel. They are about six inches long and have connectors on each of them. But they are hooked to nothing. Where do they hook to.? Please also let me know what the oil mix should be for this motor and what kind of oil to use. I will appreciate any and all information that I can get on this engine Thank you in advance. for your help.

I am sorry, I do not know if I am supposed to keep asking questions on the thread or start another thread. I am now working on the choke. It is wired up to work with an electronic switch. I want to hook it up so that I can pull the choke when I need it. There is a hole there for the choke knob. But I have no idea where to get the knob and the linkage. I don't know how the linkage was hooked up. Is there a diagram some where on the web for me to go buy.? Thanks for all the help. Evinrude 1969 18902d 18 horse power.
 
OK. I wish I had thought of that myself. That way I could show my wife how smart I am. Wait a minute, ..................... she don't know you told me.hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I just added a starter switch. I could put another push button switch right beside it. Thank you thank you thank you. I will start another thread, because that motor and I are doing battle.:)
