Is this carb even worth rebuilding?

Hey guys. Just recently bought my first boat (2003 1950 classic bayliner) and learning all the fun things of being a boat owner. Engine is a mercruiser alpha one gen 2.

I need an honest opinion. I recently took apart my carb in hopes to clean it out and fix my current stalling in low RPM. When opening it up, I noticed a large amount of corrosion in it.

Is this something that carb cleaner can easily remove? Is it something I necessarily need to worry about? Part of me just wants to bump the already 50 dollar rebuild kit up to a new carb entirely just so I don't even need to worry about it. Never done a rebuild before, but I am decently mechanically inclined. Thoughts?

Ayuh,...... That's the Outdrive,..... So what's the motor,..??

I've seen carbs in worse shape clean up,....
But, it's up to you which way ya go,....

E-10 fuel is the likely cause of that corrosion. I would suggest cleaning it out the best you can............ Or, take it to someone who can very carefully bead-blast the area clean.

Consider installing a Parker/RACOR fuel filter system.

Question:
Since this is a year 2003 1950, may we assume that this is a GM 3.0L engine with the TKS system?
