"First time post here with a question I just cannot get answered. I recently purchased a Sea Nymph with an 80 HP Merc, serial 6234738 which makes it a 1983 engine. I am converting the boat to a center console and want to put in a console remote control, a gen II model. The control cables at Mercury Marine say the gen II cables fit all "current models". I know the engine is old, but is it too old? Thanks."
