Is it time for a new ignition switch?

My Johnson J25TEEDA was converted to remote control a few years ago. As part of that process a keyed ignition switch was installed.

This year the key would turn the entire switch instead of rotating inside the switch. With a bit of jiggling it would work. I sprayed some WD-40 inside the key slot hoping to loosen things up. It seemed to help but when I tried tightening up the outer locking nut it cracked. I've tried Gorilla Glue to make it whole again but have yet to try it to see if it will hold.

Is it time to buy a new switch? If so, what should I look for? The motor has a manual primer, a starter button on the motor, a kill button on the motor, a lanyard kill switch beside the ignition switch. I run a fish finder, have a 12v socket for charging cell phones, a manually operated bilge pump, running lights and it used to have a radio (long since removed).

I suspect the easiest thing to do is try and find an exact replacement and then replicate the wiring on to the new switch.

Maybe should replace it. If switch is hard turning, that means moisture got into it. It could short out inside and cause serious ignition system damage. Try Tim's Outboard in Hackensack MN, they probably ship to Canada. 218 682 2331, Theresa Mike or Dan.
