"A jackplate will help trim out the motor as close to perfect as you can get and is designed to fine tune performance and gas consumption.

But we need to be serious here, you are only talking about a 25 horse motor, not a 250 horse. Any performance increase is going to be so minimal that you will never notice it unless you lie to yourself.

With this particular motor you will do more for performance by always running fresh gas and throwing in a new set of plugs once a year."
