"one of my motors seems to get irratic with really low RPM's when out the other day at idle speeds in the harbor. i brought it back to the slip since i recently had some tranny work and i thought it might be the tranny again.
today i ran it in the slip for about 10 min and put it in gear and it seemed to run fine. However, once the thermostat reaches 160 temp and i put it into gear the RPM went from about 900-1000 down to 300-400RPM
i let it run a bit longer at about 1300RPM and then it seems like it's staying at 900-1000 at idle.
am i just not letting it warm up enough? or is this in need of an idle adjustment?
the only thing that has changed is the chokes were not properly wired. so, they are now on the 12v side of the ballast resistor and my previous starting problems have disappeared.
