I just bought a 2003 Bayling 175 with a Mercruiser IO. This is my second boat, but first experience with a sterndrive engine. I just did a replacement of the impeller and changed out a few seals due to a minor gear lube leak.
When I tried to start it up, I got a "click" and nothing. No turning over or anything. I put a charger on it, just in case it was the battery. Once it was charged, I tried again and same thing. nothing. After a few minutes, I tried and it started right up. I tried a few more times and no problems. Then nothing again. One time, I heard a click and a 3 second pause and then it started.
Anybody have any suggestions on what might be the culprit here?
