Intermediate shaft bearing

I recently got a 1993 Parker Pilothouse with a 7.4 Volvo Penta gas engine. Salt water got in the shaft bellow because the clamps were loose. There is no grease fitting, I am wondering if it is a sealed bearing. I have the leg off, can I pull the seal out and grease the bearing.

If this is an AQ series stern drive, it should have the single bearing PDS.
If so, it will be a sealed bearing.

If the drive shaft bellows leaked water, and for any length of time....... you'd better replace the;
..... the bearing crosses (aka U-joints)
..... main drive gear seal (at least examine that area)
.... the PDS bearing

.

Tony, I meant to include this info.

Tony, may I assume that by Intermediate Shaft, you are asking about the splined shaft that joins the Engine's drive coupler to the upper gear unit?
If so, and as I mentioned above, this is the PDS...... primary drive shaft.
Given your year model, yours is a single bearing PDS with a pilot nose.
The bearing is a sealed bearing.
The PDS will come out AFT once the transmission is removed for access.
You will need a slightly modified long needle nose plyers for the two snap rings.

The new bearing is nothing more than an industry standard 6206-2RS radial ball bearing.
You can purchase this bearing from most any good industrial bearing supplier.
Steer clear of the BBQ pork and Fried Rice bearings.

This is a fairly simple task.
