I have a couple of questions that I would love to get the answers for.
(1) Are all Electric Shifts the same between 1969 and when they ended?
(2) When did they end?
(3) Can I install a later model Upper onto an earlier model Intermediate. They look exactly the same, except from the differences in the Ball Gear attachments. That is Press-on and Nut retained.
(4) That is to stop the interchanging of Intermediate Shafts and Ball Gears from the later one to the earlier one. (The Retainer Plates look identical in Bolt Pattern)
Very interested in the answers as it might reinforce me in my way to go as the Press-on Ball Gears appear to be so hard to obtain, compared to the Bolt-on ones.
And, I have nothing here to compare my early model with.
