what is the best way to insultate the inside of the hull we can get to most of the hull threw hatchs and side panels i thought about using foam panels that are used on houses ..need feedback on this..im also thinking about installing a hot air furnace that the hot air comes in though vents like a house instead of using the electric heat from shore power to save money. any thoughts would be helpful thanks chris

You'd best give some thought to condensation being trapped between the instatution, I mean insultation, I mean insulation and the the hull. :)

I know that was a typo.... but I had to poke a bit of fun at you. :D

BTW, I built an under mid cabin deck SS 8" x 12" rectangular forced air furnace for my boat.
Four ducts and vents throughout the cabin, and with a filtered return air system.
Operates on electric resistance heat as well as Stdb engine coolant heat.
RV squirrel cage blower motor.
Sequencer shut down system, sail fan switch, and more.
All thermostat controlled.

If interested in how/what I did......, shoot me an email.

ok got me its a typo ha ha i was thinking of not going electric and using diesel the marina charges alot for power but interested in what u did..

I have never worked on a Diesel powered forced hot air furnace, so I cannot help you with that. As far as the insulation goes, Rick is correct. Condensation will be a problem. The only way not to have a condensation problem is to spray foam insulation directly on the inside of the hull.

No air gap= minimal condensation.
