Installing second battery in Trophy Pro 19'

I have a Trophy Pro (2008) and it only has one battery. It's got the multiposition battery selector switch already.

I'd like to install a second battery, but on the starboard side, where the second battery sould go, there's the reservoir for the 2 stroke oil.

Anyone know where I can install a second one?

Thanks,

Mike

Install it as close to the switch as possible to cut down on voltage line loss. Unless the engine has a 35 amp alt. don't expect it to charge both batteries simultaneously.

The second battery, the further away from the switch the heavier the cable.
Most setups use a #4 cable.
Get #2 or heavier if you can.
As far as location? That depends on the boat.
It's possible that you can move the battery or oil resivoir and make room?
Pics?

I don't know the setup on your boat, but on my '96 2002FF Trophy I removed the shelf support for the oil reservoir and mounted the battery there in a West Marine battery box. I then remounted the shelf, maybe a little higher. I still had adequate space to remove the reservoir when I had to add oil. There was plenty of room under the splash area (outboard motor on my boat) to pass the battery cable to the MBSS that I mounted on the interior of the transom on the port side. Hope your boat has similar room for this method. The floor on the starboard side is virtually identical to that on the port side which makes me think that Trophy made allowances for a second battery in that location.
