Installing exhaust manifold

How many ft lbs of torque on the exhaust manifold bolts 350 engine?

Ayuh,.... I don't torque, just tighten 'em to Good, 'n Snug,....

Book calls for 35/ 40 ft.lbs....

Don't forget to re-torque after initial run/warm-up!

After I assembled my exhaust elbow to the exhaust manifold I started wondering why both the manifold and elbow has 4 slots for water passage but the gasket is restricting it to only one opening. Anyone know? The boat is raw water cooled. No heat exchangers raw water in, thru the motor, then out.

The elbows and manifold are made for both applications; raw water cooled and raw/fresh water cooled. The type of gasket you use and how you install them makes the difference. This issue paid for the cost of my engine overhaul manual two times over! Mine were the combination, so the one hole gasket was used on the raw water side. You can actually see the install drawings here, in the parts section to confirm the raw water only install.

they only use the one slot, at the top, to make sure the jacket stays wet on the raw water portion.....

The three slot gaskets are for the closed side....
