INSTALLED WRONG ROTATION STARTER

i have 82 marinette aft ordere

i have 82 marinette aft ordered a new starter for my port eng they sent me the wrong rotation starter when i installed it the eng rotated backward now i have water in oil did the starter cause this or did it blow a gasket somewhere and how do i remove the water thanks

"yep seen it first hand ,the exhaust water will be drawn into the cylinders when the motor spins the wrong way.drain it flushit and get the motor flashed up asap or your up for a tear down .at the very least fill the cylinders with diesel to stop it seizing till you get the right starter."

hey thanks for info further inspection shows blowed head gasket #6 cylinder has water blowing out of spark plug hole i think now this was the starting problem to start with so know ihave taken the heads off doing a top end rebuild block appears to be ok thanks
