Am confused on this. When I removed the gear case, the factory manual said to place the gear case in reverse. Replaced the water pump, etc., and reading the manual to install the gear case it said to place it in forward. Correct me if I am wrong, but that would make the shift rod in the "up" position. So, I paced the shifter in the forward position. My attempt to install failed, so I laid it on the floor.
Would someone "unconfuse" me and walk me in the right steps to reinstall.
