input shaft or? need help diagnosing

Hello I am new to the boating game and am curious on the part that is broken. The correct term, where I can get it, and how hard it would be to fix. Also curious if anyone can tell what the motor is. Was told it was an 18 horse evinrude.

It's called the steering shaft you need to replace it probably cant find it new But its fairly common all 18/20/25 hp used it. Ebay is probably your best bet I would not use it until you fixed it
