Hey guys how do I disconnect the shift rod in order to change the inpeller? on a 15 hp evinrude

"Drop the gear housing 1/2 -3/

"Drop the gear housing 1/2 -3/4" and You will see a connector with 2 screws on the shift rod. Take out the screws, at least one, and drop the housing."

"If the shift rod connector is 'loose' the only other option might be it is stuck/frozen in the driveshaft-cranckshaft splines. That might need some brutal force to get the shaft pulled out of the gearcase, waterpump housing will be ruined. Then off with the power head and try to work out the shaft."
