I have a Johnson Super Sea Hor

I have a Johnson Super Sea Horse 40HP electric start 2 cylinder
would like to know the year and aquire the manual or layout reference for the electrical system/carburator. the "ONLY" # of any sort I can find is on a freeze plug...2021631
ANY!!! help would be appreciated.}}

Sounds like a motor from the mid 60's. There is no model # plate on the swivel bracket? They are usually covered in grease / dirt. Got a picture?
 
David... The early model 40hp

David... The early model 40hp models had a large plate at the center front portion of the engine just beneath the steering/carrying handle.

The later models had a plate attached to the port (left) transom bracket (bkt that attaches to the boat). Are these missing?
