One of the things I love about forums is the info. sharing parts interchange.
You know, when you find out that fuel pump from a 1976 Johnson fits a 2001 Mack dump truck because someone found out if you just enlongate the holes, it is a perfect match.... but..... in reality I know that the 2001 Evinrude coil was discontinued and someboady with some some smarts came up with an adapter for a $60.00 coil that now mounts where YOU need it to, and instead of $360.00, it is $135.00 with shipping.

NOW THAT is info worth sharing. As a doer field work, I am constantly asked to fix things by adapting, or "Making do". I see things on the web, like the guy on the great lakes that shows what parts crossfit from a Nissan/Tohatsu to an Evinrude/ Tohatsu.
THAT would be nice to find in one place.

So if any one has suggestions and ideas, on how to repair, cross-match or adapt parts lets start listing it after all Most of us have abilities the supercede the average bear.
