"I just aquired Bayliner with a
Mercruiser 3.0 Alpha 1.
Im new to sterndrives.
My quetion is if its left in Saltwater for 1 or 2 weeks on a mooring is it better to raise the leg up which leaves the Hyraulic ram shafts exposed to the elements, or down. As most of its submerged anyway when raised up.

Also when I have it on the trailer I give it a flush with "Saltaway" Its a 2006 model with the quick connect block-drain hoses. Should I drain the fresh water I just flushed with or leave it in the block, for periods up to a month.
The boat will get used year round there's no winter to worry about. (Is that the reason for the easy to drain hoses)
Thanks Dave"

"Leave the drive fully down, better for the bellows to. I recently purchased a 96 sea ray 270 has been in the salt water marina for around 7 years without any major problems. I intend to haul out for a clean and anti foul yearly with a lift and clean at 6 months. Keep an eye on the anodes aswell"

Leave it; O2 causes corrosion and the fresh water prevents O2 from entering the block."
