Impellers

I recently purchased a 1993 Four Winns 18 footer with a 90 horse Johnson-Serial #VJ90TLETS figure this is a 1993 also. Wgat the heck does VJ andTL designate? The guy I purchased this from told me the impeller was 1 or 2 years old. How long do impellers last? I found a Seloc manual for this on E-Bay and bought it,but was wondering just how long an impeller might last and what to look for if they are going bad,plus how difficult they are to change on this motor.

T= tilt&trim
L= long shaft
Impellers should be checked every one or two yrs depending on useage. When the mtr overheats you'll know it's going bad. Read your manual on how to replace it.
