Impeller problem

Ok I bought the service manual

Ok I bought the service manual and took the gearcase off. Took the houseing off the water pump like the book said. Only problem is the impeller will not move. What am I missing here. How do I get this off. It is a '85 Johnson 40hp. I would really appreciate some help.

"The impeller should slide off

"The impeller should slide off the drive shaft the same way the housing did. It should have a small key or pin that makes it turn when the shaft does. It could be seized on, soak it with some penetrating oil to try to loosen it."

The impellor is rubber fused o

The impellor is rubber fused onto a brass collar...Take a chisel ans split the brass..will come right off then...
