what is the best way to put the impeller into the water pump housing? i tried just doing it with my hands and its was to hard to do.

cool thanks for the info. as for the shift cables what is the best way to make sure they dont get damaged when i remove lower unit and reinstall itYou do not put the impeller in the housing !!--------Install the impeller on the shaft, then verify that the key is driving it.--------Lower the housing onto the impeller and while rotating the driveshaft ( the way the motor turns it ) and gently push down on the housing.-----Then you will say " that was easy "
would i be able to tie some braided fishing line to it to use to pull back up or is there a way to do something to the wires to make them stronger as a precaution.Lubricate the cable and be gentle with it.---Not cheap to replace.
