Question I have a mercury 25hp outboard engine that I installed a used flywheel due to ringear teeth failure.
The flywheel I purchased had 4 magnets and my old flywheel has only 2. The marina I purchased flywheel from said that didnet make any difference. But had 2 stators installed since installing 4 magnet flywheel.
I think the extra magnetic field I'm creating is causing the premature stator failure. Has anyone else heard of this.
If you want my engine info I can get that, I just don't think this is serial number or year question..
But if needed let me know
