I wanted to make sure I'm setting my idle correctly. I set my wot timing and then set the control to neutral and adjusted the screw to get 1000 out of the water on the hose at idle. The pick up line is aligned with the center of the roller. If I understand this correctly, when in the water, I readjust till I get 800 rpm when I put it in gear it should drop to about 500. This is a 76 85 hp johnson. Am I anywhere close?
