Idle mixture screw where to start

My motor is experiencing idle problems and will sometimes stall. At high speed it runs great. I bought it last year and have only used it once. It is a 1994 Mercury 75 hp ELPTO. The idle mixture screws appear to be at different settings. I pulled the plugs after running and all three were wet. Compression is 130,130,135. I have the Merc service manual which explains the procedure for setting the idle mixture screws. However it does not say where to start. Will it make a difference which carb I start with. Thanks.

Set them all at about 1 turn out and adjust them evenly from that point.-----------You are looking for a very slight hesitation , then rapid increase in revs when you go to full throttle.------Thermostat in place and working ??

Yes racerone. Replaced thermostat, poppet valve, and water pump. Thank you for the reply.

why replace thermostat... no poppet valve on this motor..... if pump good water Impeller is OK...
