idle air adjustment 2003 yamaha 70

i have them set at 1 3/4 out but it will run 3/4 throttle but bogs down at wide open throttle i found them set that way when i clean the carbs

1 and 1/4 is the base setting.

What does an idle mixture setting have much to do with a motor not running right above 3/4 throttle opening?

Brian i had another mechanic tell me that might be whats wrong and i figured the the boys boat that i was looking at messed with the air adjustments but your right in your comment i found a bad fuel pump, Thanks for your help..
