How is it going everybody brand new to the forums but I'm sure ill be using them frequently.
My buddy bought an (I believe) 85 Johnson 40 model number J40ELC0 and I must admit its a bit of a sh*t show under the Cowell. I'm trying to help him sort it out but am having some difficulty. Attached is a picture,of what I thought was the fuel pump (has 2 lines coming from it that run to the,carbs) but after looking up the fuel pump by model number it does not look like the,same part at all. It has a female thread on the top and the,previous owner had "gooped" some adhesive to the,male threads of what was probably the wrong fitting to make it stay.
I'm a firm believer in replacing the fuel lines and such,on anything that's been sitting around and would really like to identify this part to make it all kosher.
I'm sure ill be adding to this as I usually work on Merc's and Johnson is new,to me, thanks in advance!!
