I'm trying to repair a Mercury 50hp
But cant find proper documentation or parts without knowing the exact model and type

The serienummer is: A102170

A dealer would use the serial # to get you the parts.---
Yes, but in am repairing it myself because dealers don't want to touch this oldie.
In order to find the problem, and find wich parts might need replacement. I need to find documentation and wireschedules of this model.
So, if someone can find me the specs about this serialnumber (A102170) that would be great :)

What is your motor doing / not doing.-----A 3 or 4 cylinder motor ?----A 2 stroke or 4 stroke ?----Post pictures of the motor ?----Your location?

Its a 4 cilinder two stroke engine.
The problem was gasoline smell, no full power and stalling. I trusted someone to take a look at it, and now it won't spark
My location is the Netherlands

Does motor have brown / copper colored decals?------It is likely a motor made / assembled in Belgium.-----Perhaps have the battery load tested.----Inspect the starter motor.----If starter turns flywheel too slow there will be no spark.---My location used to be in Petten many years ago.

The engine has red and white decals. But i am pretty sure they are not original due to the modern appearance compared to the engines age. ---- the battery, wich is new, is fully charged and there is a small current flowing towards the switchblock. But not towards the coils. ---- how do i know if the starter is turning the flywheel hard enough?

Also; why is it so hard to find a repair- / parts-manual for this engine/serialnumber? These engines are old but still pretty common in the Netherlands
