"What Year? 40 HP Mariner Seri

"What Year? 40 HP Mariner Serial is 429037, Code 6E9 L, Model ELO. Cover reads "Oil Injected" but it is NOT. It is 2 Cyl, 2 Carb. Thanks for any help."

"Micheal, that's a 1988 Yamaha built Mariner.

From factory it had an "Autoblend" oil injection system. Someone did the motor a favour by removing it and throwing it far enough away that it couldn't spontaneously reconnect. Autoblend probably killed more motors than any other single cause.

You need to mix this at 50:1 since the oil system is gone..."

I got a question simil

I got a question similar to this. I just purchased what I thought was a 1987 Mariner 60HP long shaft on a pontoon. The cowl says Mariner sixty. The pin plate has Mariner 40E 6E9 L 413265 It is a 2 cylinder. What do you think it is and how can I find out what it is for future parts?
