Ibm Considering a oil drain hose kit

"I had a oil hose drain kit on my motor home...For my VP should I get the 3/4"X16 thread hose kit or the 12MMX1.75 threaded hose kit??? This drain hose kit replaces the oil pan drain bolt. I'm hoping to Pull the hose out thru the hull/bilge drain and unscrew the plug to drain the oil.

"When I replaced my engine in 1993 I had an oil drain hose installed. It sure does beat trying to get the oil out through the dip stick tube. I can get the hose out through the drain plug. Your only problem is going to be getting to the bottom of the pan to remove the old drain plug and install the hose fitting. As far as the size of the hose the motor, yours and mine, are GM products so I would rule out the metric size. Good luck."

The only thing I'll do differently next time is to add a way of attaching a pump to the end of the hose,.....
Gravity works,... But it's slower than Death to change the oil,... Even when warmed....
As far as I know, Chevy is still using the 1/2" fine threaded drain plugs,...."
