Iam new here and i need help!!

I have a merc 50 hp 2 strocke 4 cyl. thunderbolt outboard s nr. 9231972 and i would know the year where the merc was built.Is there a thermostat in the cooling line.I had some problems to get the coolingwater through the motor.If someone have the schematic for the cooling system would be helpful for me.

I have a mariner 40 hp and just had to have the stator replaced and as we were working on it we found that a bug had gotten in the tube and built a mud nest in it. We tried to get it out with a wire but eventually had to take tube off and blow out, in reverse, with compressor.

You may want to run a soft insulated copper wire up in the tell tale hole. I think on mine I can get to the tubing if need be. On my '77 50hp 500, there is a plug on the block that you can remove to see if you get water there. It's on the water jacket just to the side of the spark plug.
