Hi folks thanks for the add
I have a Mercury 115 hp outboard A155561 just bought the motor, supposedly ran fine when taken off the boat,
what I have done is have the carbs rebuilt,replaced all the fuel and vac lines,tune up and added a inline fuel filter
also replaced the water pump impeller and cup. the fuel is clean as I have been using the boat this year mixed at 50:1
the problem is it runs fine on the muffs but as soon as I get it in the water it has no power it might get to 1500 rpm
please help as my mechanic is stumped

Don't laugh, but it might have way too much prop to get her onto the power band.

Saw that with a friend's hot boat. I was hanging over the bow, trying to get her on plane, but she should would not go faster than a high idle speed. After dropping a few inches of pitch she was off and running.

thanks Jeff but what i'm saying by no power is that the motor seems to be cutting out at full throttle it wont even push the boat to 5 mph no where near going on plane
 
its like its missing what we found by shear accident due to a broken wire is that the yellow with red striped wires coming from the stator to the recifier are causing a loss of spark to multible plugs if the wires are disconnected from the rectifier the motor runs at full power reconnect the wires and it wont rev over 1500 rpm
